Numbi Valley Permaculture Farm is situated in a secluded Klein Karoo valley surrounded by natural vegetation with views of the magnificent Swartberg Mountains. The off-grid accommodation is an old laborers quarters fully renovated to stylish comfort with a main bedroom with a queen size bed, and a second room with two single beds, lounge/dining area, fully equipped self catering kitchen, shower only bathroom and a comfortable veranda overlooking the organic fruit and vegetable gardens. Adjoining the cottage is a spring fed fresh water pool with hammock and loungers overlooking the valley and mountains. There is an outdoor firepit for cooking under the stars and fireplaces in the living room and shower provide heating when the Klein Karoo cools down.
A scenic 12km drive from the farm up the rural Middelplaas valley brings you to the village of De Rust and the beginning of the awe inspiring Meiringspoort. There are tranquil walks and mountain bike routes on calm country roads and other attractions of the eastern Klein Karroo, like the Cango Caves and Swartberg pass which are easily accessed from the farm.
If you are interested in sustainable living Kath and Ross are happy to walk you through the organic gardens, self built cob houses and solar systems. Enjoy the fresh veggies and fruit in season from the garden which you can pick with Ross or Kathryn right outside the back door of the cottage in an inspiring permaculture garden. By arrangement you can enjoy a rejuvenating herb bath in an outdoor cob firebath. Kath is a qualified Trigger point massuese and Yoga teacher(200YTTC), please arrange before arrival if you are interested in any of these.
The farm has free uncapped wi-fi available for use in the guest cottage.
